Oh my god, Joss Whedon I hate you.

Why do I hate you?

Because you just wrote your last Astonishing X-men issue as if it were a Buffy Episode. With Kitty Pryde guest-starring as Buffy, Piotr making an appearance as Angel, and Agent Brand as Faith.

And there is a giant space bullet.

And Kitty SAVES THE WORLD by SACRIFICING HERSELF and BONDING WITH A SPACE BULLET.

FOREVER.

I am just going to say--that was lameass and anticlimactic.

Seriously.

Jesus wtf. Also why did all those superheroes suddenly appear? You know what? Don't answer that. *sigh*

And X-Force #4. God I knew I was going to hate it going into it, from the previews. I knew it.

And then X, Because Logan said she should die for Rahne (and people like Rahne) DOES NOT TRY TO STOP HER FROM TAKING WARREN APART, or anything, or stop her from leaving, she sheathes her claws AND JUST STANDS THERE as Rahne takes her apart, too.

And then when everyone else comes in they totally run to Warren and are like OH NO ELIXIR HEAL HIM.

And ignore Laura. Like. Not even a 'what happened?'

Genius, book. Genius FAIL. GET ON THE FAILBOAT. NOW.

Gah.

And I am spent.

This is why comics are hard for me. The first read lasts ten minutes. The rage lasts an entire month, until the next one.

Seriously?

I am so glad I bailed on X-Joss.

There is a giant space bullet, made of some weird metal.

Kitty phases through into it, to try to dismantle it or whatever, only there is nothing inside.

It is a space bullet.

And it saps her strength, or something, so she can't get out.

And it is headed for Earth.

And so, while talking to herself in disjointed 'I. Am. About to. Be. heroic.' speech, she phases the bullet through Earth. And in order to do that she has to bond with it.

And then at the very end it is space bullet and kitty, headed out into the wilds of space. She might die. She might not. No one knows. And no one goes after her because it would be pointless.

I am just like. OH WHATEVER.

*full of hate*

And seriously, near the end Agent Brand talks to Hank about 'riding him like a pony'. I am sorry, that does not get any more Faith-like. And she is a very bad, bad girl. *solemn* WTF.

Rule of thumb: if Joss created something - Buffy, Angel, Fray - then he will do right by his creations when he writes them. If he is using characters other people created, he will eventually forget what they were and make them into bizarro versions of his creations.

I so called the ending of Astonishing X-men.

'Kitty will win the respect of all and sundry, even Emma Frost, discover new reserves of power, sacrifice herself heroically, and everyone will mourn'. Like every Mary Sue EVER. I did miss the part about her MAYBE not being dead, so she can come back and be awesome again.

Just. Wow.

It was the most self indulgent piece of crap ever.

I don't even read these series, but seriously. Whut.

She's a werewolf-type feral from oh god I cannot remember is it Scotland or Ireland? And she's very Catholic, and she slept with a student, and with Rictor, and she's kind of self-righteous and annoying (at least lately. God.)

Which means she's totally innocent and sweet and hopeful, and the kind of person that needs protecting at all costs.
