Travel Ready

I know where I put my shirt
after I took it off last night
I know that my bra
fell behind the stereo
and my deoderant is
lying
where I tossed it
under the pile of unwashed socks

my glasses are in
the side pocket of my purse--
the one with the broken strap--
and my phone
is in the back seat of my car

and even though you can't find
the keys
that I threw down
when I got home
that doesn't mean I won't
be able to pick them up
when I'm ready to leave.
