...I can see how that could be a good fic, if it was multi-chapter and did the build-up right and had actual solid reasons for his addiction. Sadly, it could also be done very, very wrong.

It is--the loss of control is staggering. I can barely buy Dean as a drunk, you know?

There would have to be one hell of a terrible event in his life for him to even start falling that low.

Dean getting addicted to heroin would probably require his first dose being administered nonconsensually.

But then--after that, I honestly--he's not stupid. Macho, proud, but not stupid. I just can't see him not trying to beat it. Er. By locking himself in a room somewhere until he's done with withdrawal. I just--
