Stupidity is contagious, people, really it is. Or maybe it's genetic. *facepalm*

Well. I am a moron. And yet oddly grateful.

The problem I've been having with my reaction? Wherein it wasn't working? TOTALLY MY FAULT. Because I was mixing together a halogen-terminated thingummy with a nucleophile, and WHOOPS, SUBSTITUTION AHOY, YO.

*facepalms again*

But now, armed with a new technique and advice about the order in which to add components, I am good to go.

*crosses fingers*

Now if only boss hadn't e-mailed me about my monthly report. Heh. I guess I can just finish it up and turn it in today with the caveat of 'I think I have figured out the problem, I shall let you know how it goes tomorrow'.

Here's hoping.

... oops. *wince* Yeah, that would be not so much with the working in the fashion that you wanted. At least you figured it out! *offers tea*

(We're studying genetic diseases and screenings for same right now, so I'm in a particularly science-focused frame of mind.)

All shall be well. :)

... ICON. *tries hard not to burst into laughter in the middle of class*

Anyway, yes-- it's incredibly annoying to realize that you have contributed to the problem and so have the work to do again. Not that I am eyeing my own past history or anything, or lines of statistical analysis code. *dry as dust*

But yay relief and yay learning who to not ask, and yay for things being well.
