*sighs a sigh of the much-put-upon*

Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 of your own weird habits" and people who get tagged need to write a LJ entry about their 5 quirky habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names.

1) I gnaw at the inside of my mouth when I'm nervous. Apparently it is cannibalism-lite, the self version. I think I started sometime around 5th grade. It used to be a furtive thing, kind of deliberate, and now I do it without thinking. I also make some truly bizarre faces. But my lip muscles have never been stronger, due to all the pursing.

2). When I am home alone, I cannot listen to the radio. The TV can be on, but not the radio. I have no idea why this is the case. Something about the pretty pictures makes it less likely (to my brain) that someone will sneak up on me while I am not paying attention. I could blame slasher flicks, I guess, but really, I'm just that weird.

3). Carrying books around with me makes me less creeped out. Alone, in the dark, with funny noises coming from downstairs that I must investigate? I grab a book, not a weapon. Though the heavily-glued spines of paperback novels HURT when they hit you in the head.

4). When caught unawares, you can often find me singing under my breath. Usually there is some sort of message in whatever the hell I'm singing. Sometimes that message is only for me. Sometimes it is just whatever was on my radio when I woke up that morning. Sometimes it's just nonsense.

5). When I am reading or watching TV, at particularly fraught moments, or whenever my brain latches on to something, I tend to get up and walk around. This is another thing whose origins are lost in the shrouded mists of time, but it's true. Particularly embarrassing moments for characters will also prompt loud exclamations of "OH CHRIST I CAN'T WATCH THIS" followed by loud stomping away. And then a hesitant return. "Is it over ye--OH MY GOD NO!" Yeah. I am fun to watch television with.

And that, I think, is pretty much that. Except for the Babylonian mashed-potato sleep-wrestling.

*shifty*

And now I am going to poke at [livejournal.com profile] darthrami, [personal profile] lunamystic, [livejournal.com profile] sociofemme, [livejournal.com profile] lyricality, and [livejournal.com profile] cupenny, if any of them have not done this yet.

4 & 5...dude - Word.

Half the time I don't even realize that I'm singing under my breath.

And I'm sooo glad I'm not the only one who can't watch people embarass themselves on tv. It doesn't matter if they're fictional....it's just too painful!!
