You have opinions, and ideas, and you know what you want and what you're prepared to deal with, and man, as the wishy washy flake in the corner who hates conflict, I admire that so very much.

In addition to that, you have one of the weirdest (and most addictive) senses of humor I have ever seen, and there's barely a link that you've tossed up or a commentary that you've posted that has not failed to make me laugh So. Damn. Hard.

Writing-wise, I love the grasp you have on character voice, and the work you put into making it all feel as realistic as possible. Particularly for a bar at the end of the universe, and a family as wacky in make-up as the Tonks-Wrangles. I have so much invested in that relationship, as a reader, that it's possibly not even funny. <3 (and Jayne omg, but you knew that, too).

Well, you cook up insane schemes with me, and you mock my job like there's no tomorrow (which makes me feel better, because man, does SIF suck), and you call me homie, which never fails to make me go all smiley-face, and you made me a bracelet, and just--man. You're a lot of fun to talk to, on a wide range of subjects.

Also your Mal is incomparable, and you manage to mix up the inherent tragedy that is his place in the multiverse with this sense of comedic timing that I would envy if I weren't too busy laughing like a loon.

Thing the first: You write very well, with this amazingly keen eye for characterization, and above all you try to have fun with what you're doing. And it works.

Thing the second: Wide-ranging IM conversations that span the globe from politics, to school, to personal stuff, to sheer unadulterated crack that WILL NOT END. It is beautiful. Plus your commentary reminds me that I am not alone in occasionally thinking other people should maybe not be in charge of anything at all.

Additionally you are practically made of the crack, and so our IM conversations often devolve into being silly, and random, and I just have such a great time.

And when we're not being cracky, the conversation doesn't dry up and blow away in the wind. So that's good, too!

My heart is full of love for you and your amazingly vibrant writing. Mary Anne is gorgeous and fully realized, going from cracky and silly to scary and violent to wounded and careful and it's all just supremely lovely.

And you! You are insanely funny and silly and then you slip something into a conversation, or your LJ, that just makes me go . . . *stare* sweet!

I love you for the way you write, all half-closed doors and half-open windows with the curtains drawn, so I have to think. I love you for the way you switch from serious to cracky and insane! and then you switch back. I love you for the random spanish, and the talking about movies and books I haven't seen/read yet, and for bringing up cultural conflicts and discussing them in ways that make me consider things I hadn't before.

And, you know, for Thom. Who shrieks like a girl.

I love you for the way you listen to me rant and rave when I am cranky, and the way you give me a reality check when I am being all emo-queen, and the way doom spontaneously erupts whenever we RP together.And I love that you can talk me into absolutely anything, but you only use that power for good! (mostly), and that you let me totally geek out all over you at the drop of a hat.

And in things not involving me *thwaps inner moppet*, I love the way you can maintain composure even when things have gone totally crazy, and the way you can deliver a smackdown without really causing offense, and the way that you can give perspective to any argument (or any argument that I've seen, so far). And you make damn fine hot chocolate.

Well, there are all the obvious reasons, you are evil, you are insane, our IM conversations veer between hilariously cracky, vaguely disturbing, and incredibly theoretical and meta, your writing and characterization make my brain explode. It makes me happy, even if it requires me to scrub gray bits off the walls.

In addition, you manage to at least sound levelheaded in adversity, you look disturbingly like River if you make an effort, you are tall, and I wish geography were not my enemy because I can't quite think of anything more oddly relaxing than spending an afternoon chatting over tea. If only because of the tea.

We can, it seems, talk about anything and everything, and you almost always get where I'm coming from, and when you don't, you make a very great effort. Sometimes you say the funniest things, and all I can do is giggle helplessly and try not to type utter nonsense.

When it comes to writing, man, every character voice is distinct, and you can make even plotless drabbles or bits of dialogue feel remarkably fulfilling and note perfect.

Plus, you know, you pimp me music sometimes. And books!
