I--I don't think I ever could have done it differently. I was younger, you know? And really--in hindsight I was a lot more rigid in my thinking.

Plus I was terrified. Rational didn't come back until it was too late.

As for regret--I do regret saying it. I regret even more not trying to mend things until so much later.

I have little need for tasting. Blood alone does well enough.

And distress, so far as things go, has always only been the initial call.

Among my own stories, the one of my beginning is of particular interest.

As to other stories--I am most fond of beginnings, perhaps. And Little Red Riding Hood. It is illustrative.
